well, i'm finally calling it quits on this old photoblog of mine. i'm just not happy with the direction blogger went with the uploading technique to this site. so unfortunately, after three or four years and one hi-jacked eradication, this site will no longer be updated (even though i haven't updated in months anyway, this is just kind of the final word.)

but fear not! i have opened up another photo site. not a blog, persay, but i've created a deviantart profile specifically for my photography. you can find it here: jewel-photo.deviantart.com. to cut back on the overwhelming amount of pictures i'd have to go through and upload, i've decided to keep it to any pictures i've taken after the first of this year and onward. i'll leave this one up here as long as i can, but i probably won't check it very often (or at all)

so, goodbye to this old and hello to the new! and those few of you who actually read this blog, i hope to see you over at the new jewelphoto!

i love working for the snapper (school newspaper). mainly because i get to use very very pretty cameras, but also because i get the chance to go to things i never would have thought to go to (for free, no less!) - this was one of those things. It was called "Break!" and it was a professional urban culture performance group - breakdancing, beatboxing, dj scratching, those sorts of things. i was hesistant to take this assignment because in my head i just pictured a rap battle of some sorts... but man... it was freaking AWESOME. i'm glad i was made to go ^^

as i was walking back to my dorm from my marimba lesson the other day, i happened to glance over at the little tiny pond that's behind one of the dining halls. i got so excited when i saw this flower! it was absolutely perfect, and a photographer's dream come true. i took about fifty shots of the pond, and these are some of the best. they all came out amazingly, it was hard not to just upload them all ^^ but i have class in the morning and it's already 1 am...! So much for that early bedtime i was going for ^^;;

a couple weeks ago i went and saw kingsfoil in the SMC. i absolutely fell in love with their music. and to make it even more awesome, i had the pretty snapper camera with me, so that's what these few shots were taken with. this was their "big ending"... i was glad i caught it with the camera! i love this shot...

i was lucky to catch this sunset the other night... i walked out into the hall and noticed that the entire wing was glowing orange, so i quick went back into my room, grabbed my camera, and snapped a couple shots.

i love the way the light plays on the cars in this one...

i stopped by the Bent Run Waterfall which is near the Kinzua resevoir, and convieniently on my way to my aunt's house (which is where i was heading). this place is beautiful. if you're ever in pa in the kinzua area, STOP. it's a gorgeous place, and the roadside view does it no justice.

Nashville, TN

This past week I've been in Nashville, TN. My dad had a conference for work so the whole family went along with him. We did a lot during the week, all of which i recorded in a journal i had with me. Sometime in the future i plan on digitizing that journal along with a lot more pictures.

Anyway... here's quite a few of my favorites. This one in particular is my ABSOLUTE favorite. 'Twas taken from the club lounge on the 24th floor of our hotel, on a 4 second shutter delay just after sunset, which is why you can see all the pretty lights.

I plan on getting this framed. =)

yes, it's been quite a while since this thing last updated (exactly a month, in fact!) sorry for the long absence... life kind of got in the way, what with projects, and finals, and packing, and getting home, and unpacking, and job hunting... it's crazy!

so yeah, finally an update. and all these pictures were taken within an hour of each other on the ride home from millersville. it's amazing how much the sky changes and what just a little tweaking to the camera settings can do.

and y'all know how much i love the sky...
